Please join us for a special opportunity to tour the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station!

The San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS) is now in the process of decommissioning. Southern California Edison is safely decommissioning San Onofre in full compliance with state and federal regulations.

SCE and the current and former San Onofre owners responsible for decommissioning have established core principles of Safety, Stewardship, and Engagement to guide the long and complex decommissioning process. In this tour, we will:

  • Learn about the history of SONGS and its transition into decommissioning.
  • Hear from project experts about how spent nuclear fuel is safely managed and stored.
  • See the process of decommissioning, and understanding the engineering, environmental stewardship, and safety measures.
  • Network with fellow EHS professionals over a provided lunch (offsite) after the tour!
